School Catering Assistant
Location: Longsight, Manchester (M13)
Hours: Monday-Friday, 10:00am-2:00pm
Contract: Term time only
Start Date: ASAP

We are currently recruiting for a School Catering Assistant to join a friendly and welcoming primary school in Longsight (M13). This is a term-time role, ideal for someone looking for consistent daytime hours within a school setting.

You will play an important part in supporting the smooth running of the school kitchen and lunchtime service, ensuring pupils receive meals in a safe, clean, and positive environment.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with the preparation and serving of school meals

  • Supporting pupils during lunchtime service

  • Maintaining high standards of hygiene and cleanliness in the kitchen and dining areas

  • Washing up and clearing tables after service

  • Following food safety and health & safety procedures at all times

  • Working as part of a team to ensure an efficient and friendly lunchtime experience



About You:

  • Previous experience in a catering or kitchen environment is desirable

  • A positive, reliable and hardworking attitude

  • Ability to work well as part of a team

  • Understanding of food hygiene and safety procedures (training can be provided)

  • Enjoys working in a school environment
