Are you ready to take on a pivotal role within our dynamic People Team?

As a People Advisor, you will report directly to the Head of People and be the first point of contact for all human resource enquiries at Freebridge Community Housing. You will provide essential advice and support to managers and colleagues across Freebridge in key HR matters. This includes attendance management, change management, employment law, employee relations, and performance management processes. Additionally, you will play a crucial role in integrating the new HRIS system into Freebridge and host training and feedback sessions with employees.

Type and term of contract: Fixed Term Contract for 6 months, full-time, hybrid working (3 days office, 2 days home)

What you’ll be doing:

  • Policy Management: Work closely with the HR manager to monitor, review, and update all policies in line with current legislation and best practice.
  • Advisory Service: Ensure employees are fully aware of their rights and entitlements.
  • Employee Relations: Manage employee relationships, promptly respond to queries, and manage expectations.
  • HR Compliance: Ensure HR matters are handled fairly and consistently in line with legal and company requirements.
  • Support for Managers: Assisting managers with grievance, disciplinary, and capability investigations and hearings.
  • Recruitment Support: Support and develop recruitment campaigns.
  • Training and Seminars: Manage bookings and the invoice procedure for training events and seminars. Additionally, you will be responsible for training and advising staff on the new HRIS system.
  • Performance Monitoring: Keep regular management information on budget and overall performance up to date.
  • Collaboration: Work with line managers on performance management, employee relations, resourcing, and employee training.
  • Continuous Improvement: Participate in the continuous improvement of HR service delivery, ensuring policies and procedures comply with legislation and regulatory requirements.

What we’re looking for:

Essential Criteria:

  • CIPD, degree or qualified by proven experience.
  • Knowledge of employment legislation and codes of practice.
  • Knowledge of Employee Relations and Performance Management.
  • Confident with coaching and delivering training.
  • Ability to communicate routine and complex information clearly at all levels.
  • A self-starter, able to work in a demanding, fast paced environment.
  • Ability to analyse and interpret complex data and information.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Experience using the IRIS self-service platform or similar
  • Experience within a Registered Social Landlord or Local Authority
