Burgh Island Hotel is a legendary Art Deco retreat off the Devon coast, where timeless elegance meets contemporary hospitality.


We are seeking a Chef de Partie to join our dedicated kitchen brigade and help deliver unforgettable dining experiences at one of the UKs most unique and historic hotels.


The Role


As Chef de Partie, you will be responsible for running your own section of the kitchen, ensuring each dish meets our high standards. Youll work closely with the Sous Chef and Head Chef, contribute to the smooth running of service, and ensure mise en place and quality are consistently maintained.


Key Responsibilities
  • Run a designated section confidently and consistently

  • Prepare and cook dishes using fresh, seasonal, and locally sourced ingredients

  • Assist with stock rotation and kitchen organisation

  • Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety at all times

  • Collaborate with the brigade for efficient service

  • Take direction, learn new techniques, and grow your skills


About You
  • Previous experience as a CDP or strong Demi CDP in a quality kitchen

  • Solid grounding in classic cookery with a keenness to learn more

  • Passionate about food, with energy and enthusiasm for the craft

  • A reliable team player who performs well under pressure

  • Punctual, dependable, and proud of your work


Working Hours
  • 40 hours per week, across 5 days (rota-based)

  • Full flexibility required weekends and bank holidays included


Accommodation
  • Live-in accommodation available (subsidised staff housing, subject to availability)


Additional Information
  • Due to our remote island location, live-out applicants must have a car and valid UK driving licence

  • You must have the right to work in the UK visa sponsorship is not available
