SEND Teaching Assistant | Secondary School | Kingston | London | 105-115 per day | Long Term Role | Starting ASAP
The Opportunity:
- Support students with autism and behavioural challenges across a range of subjects
- Inclusive and well-resourced mainstream secondary school with a strong SEN support team
- Work closely with the SENCo and class teachers to deliver targeted support
- Excellent long-term career development opportunities
- Full-time, Monday to Friday
- Term-time only role, paid up to 115 per day
- Based in Kingston (KT3) with good transport links
- Immediate start, with potential for long-term placement
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored support under the direction of the SENCo to meet the needs of pupils with autism and behavioural issues
- Maintain a calm and structured learning environment using effective behaviour management strategies
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with additional needs
- Help pupils stay engaged in class by adapting resources and tasks as needed
- Promote inclusion and support students' emotional and academic development
- Assist students in developing independence, organisation, and confidence
- Collaborate with teachers and pastoral teams to monitor and adjust interventions
Who We're Looking For:
- A minimum Level 3 qualification (essential)
- Experience supporting children with autism, behavioural difficulties, or complex needs in a school setting
- Calm, empathetic, and resilient approach to working with challenging behaviour
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Committed to safeguarding and student welfare
- A genuine passion for supporting young people to thrive in education
