SEND Teaching Assistant | Secondary School | Kingston | London | 105-115 per day | Long Term Role | Starting ASAP

The Opportunity:

  • Support students with autism and behavioural challenges across a range of subjects
  • Inclusive and well-resourced mainstream secondary school with a strong SEN support team
  • Work closely with the SENCo and class teachers to deliver targeted support
  • Excellent long-term career development opportunities
  • Full-time, Monday to Friday
  • Term-time only role, paid up to 115 per day
  • Based in Kingston (KT3) with good transport links
  • Immediate start, with potential for long-term placement

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver tailored support under the direction of the SENCo to meet the needs of pupils with autism and behavioural issues
  • Maintain a calm and structured learning environment using effective behaviour management strategies
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with additional needs
  • Help pupils stay engaged in class by adapting resources and tasks as needed
  • Promote inclusion and support students' emotional and academic development
  • Assist students in developing independence, organisation, and confidence
  • Collaborate with teachers and pastoral teams to monitor and adjust interventions

Who We're Looking For:

  • A minimum Level 3 qualification (essential)
  • Experience supporting children with autism, behavioural difficulties, or complex needs in a school setting
  • Calm, empathetic, and resilient approach to working with challenging behaviour
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Committed to safeguarding and student welfare
  • A genuine passion for supporting young people to thrive in education
