We are currently collaborating with a main contractor that specialises in the Responsive repairs, planned maintenance and retrofit projects for local authorities and housing associations.

Since their inception 20 years ago, the company has grown rapidly having completed works on over 5,000 tenanted properties and now turnover in excess of 170million offering comprehensive works covering full kitchen and bathroom replacements, electrical rewires, boiler changes, new heating systems, disabled adaptations, external insulated rendering, general roofing, loft insulation, and external environmental works

The Role

Our client is currently seeking a highly capable Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Southwest London, working on planned maintenance and refurbishment projects within the social housing sector.

You will play a key role in cost management, contract administration, and client liaison, making this a vital position within a well-established and growing team.

Roles and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

-Oversee the commercial aspects of multiple planned works projects, including kitchen and bathroom upgrades, roofing, external repairs, and refurbishments

-Prepare and manage cost plans, valuations, and final accounts to ensure budgetary control throughout the project lifecycle

-Lead procurement processes, including subcontractor selection, tendering, and negotiation of terms

-Monitor project costs and cash flow, identifying opportunities for value engineering or risk mitigation

-Produce accurate and timely monthly reports, forecasts, and contractual notices

-Manage change control processes, including the preparation of variations and compensation events

-Ensure compliance with the contract (typically JCT or NEC) and manage contractual risk

-Liaise regularly with clients, residents, site teams, and supply chain partners to support successful project delivery

-Mentor junior QS staff and support their development within the team
