PERMANENT POSITION

We have two permanent vacancies in our Adolescent Safeguarding Team and are seeking experienced social workers who have worked in the field of contextual safeguarding (child criminal or sexual exploitation and serious youth violence). We will also consider applications from experienced social workers that have an interest and passion for this area of specialist work.

We are looking for social workers who want to work in a dynamic field of practice, with other experienced social workers that are passionate about working with adolelscents and finding opportunities for engagement, safety and resilience.

About the team:

The Adolescent Safeguarding Team delivers the statutory social work functions for children and young people identified as requiring an assessment or plan to reduce their risk of harm outside the home. This includes the range of social work from assessments and investigations to child in need, child protection or children in care plans, including court work when absolutely required. The team works closely with Police, Health and Education colleagues to ensure a robust multi agency response to young people. The team represents their children at Pre-MACE, Youth Integrated Offenders Management Panel and Missing panel to support timely responses and robust safety planning.

About the role:

As an Adolescent Safeguarding Social Worker, you will ensure high levels of quality interventions using AfC’s social work practice model, Signs of Safety, agreed quality standards and operating procedures. You will represent AfC at operational multi agency and others meetings as appropriate. You will be responsible for ensuring that adolescents are safeguarded from harm whilst parents and carers of adolescents are supported in their parenting capacity to protect and nurture them whilst ensuring that the public is protected where youth offending is concerned.
