We are seeking a Financial Accountant to manage the financial reporting, external audit process, statutory filings, and tax compliance. This role will involve overseeing corporate tax filings, supporting personal tax matters, and ensuring regulatory compliance across financial processes.

Job Overview:

We are seeking a Financial Accountant to support with statutory filings, tax compliance and ad hoc project work. This role will involve overseeing corporate tax filings, supporting personal tax matters, and ensuring regulatory compliance across financial processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the preparation and submission of quarterly VAT returns, ensuring full compliance with tax regulations.
  • Oversee the preparation and filing of corporate tax returns, working closely with the Group Tax team to ensure tax computations are accurate, timely, and compliant with relevant laws.
  • Assist with the personal tax compliance for senior employees or executives, ensuring all related filings (e.g., income tax, benefits, and allowances) are handled correctly and submitted on time.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in tax laws and regulations, advising the business on potential impacts and opportunities for tax optimization.

Financial Control & Compliance:

  • Ensure the implementation and maintenance of a robust financial control environment, compliant with Group guidelines and local regulations.
  • Collaborate with the Internal Audit team to support internal audits and ensure that any findings are addressed promptly through appropriate remediation plans and projects in coordination with Operational Finance.

External Financial Reporting & Ad-Hoc Projects:

  • Support the Finance Reporting team in fulfilling external reporting requirements, including insurance documentation and operational filings
  • Drive continuous improvements in financial reporting, reconciliation, and tax compliance processes to streamline workflows and improve accuracy.
  • Assist with ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting projects, working closely with senior management and other departments as required.

The Successful Applicant:

The ideal candidate will be a qualified/part qualified financial accountant with extensive knowledge in financial accounting, corporate tax, and personal tax compliance. You should have a strong background in preparing financial statements, managing external audits, and ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations. This role is suited for someone with robust technical accounting skills, tax knowledge, and a proactive approach to improving financial processes.

Key Skills & Qualifications:

  • Professional Accounting Qualification Part Qualified (ACCA, ACA, CIMA, CTA or ATT) or Qualified by experience
  • Experience in Corporate Tax: Strong knowledge of corporate tax processes and the ability to work with tax teams to ensure compliance with all tax filing requirements.
  • Personal Tax Compliance: Experience in handling personal tax matters for senior employees, including income tax returns, benefits, and allowances.
  • Advanced Excel Skills: Proficiency in Excel for data analysis, financial modeling, and reporting.
  • Strong Financial Control & Compliance: Experience in ensuring compliance with financial controls, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.

Additional Competencies:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work with both internal teams and external auditors.
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to stay up-to-date with changes in tax legislation and provide advice on tax matters.
