Straight-Line Civils are currently looking for a Design Engineer to be based in Kingswinford, Dudley.

You will be responsible for designing, selecting materials, and specifying the fabrication details for pressure vessels that meet the required codes and standards. You will be working with other professionals, such as engineers and project managers, to ensure the timely completion of projects.

It is essential that you have a thorough understanding of the industry and safety regulations governing pressure vessels. You must also be able to calculate loads, stresses, and forces to determine the most appropriate material, wall thickness, and vessel shape and size for the application.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Designing pressure vessel,s ensuring they comply with relevant regulations. Design includes selecting materials, estimating vessel dimensions and wall thickness, designing flanges, connections and support structures.
  • Collaborating with other team members and key stakeholders
  • Meet project budgets and timelines
  • Prepare detailed documentation and reports regarding the design process, including drawings, specifications, and test records
  • Perform tests to verify whether the vessel meets design requirements and make necessary adjustments if/when required
  • Stay up-to-date with regulations
