SEN Teaching Assistant - All-Through Special School (SLD/PMLD/ASD)

We are seeking a Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to join a dedicated team at a welcoming all-through special school in Dudley, supporting pupils aged 3-19 with a range of needs including Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The majority of pupils are non-verbal and require a high level of personalised support.

Key Responsibilities:

Supporting pupils 1:1 and in small groups across a range of subjects and activities

Using alternative communication methods such as PECS, Makaton, and visual aids

Assisting with personal care routines including toileting, feeding, and changing

Promoting independence, emotional regulation, and engagement in learning

Contributing to a safe, supportive, and stimulating environment for all pupils

We are looking for someone who:

Has experience working with children or young people with SLD, PMLD, or ASD

Is calm, patient, and passionate about inclusive education

Understands the importance of communication, routine, and sensory needs

Is comfortable with providing personal care as part of the daily routine

Works effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and shows initiative
