The Opportunity
The business is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to take on a wide range of duties including statutory and management reporting including year-end, whilst directing three reports within the Finance team.
Duties of the role will include
- Hours Monday to Friday 9am-5pm.
- Produce Month end accounts and Quarterly forecasts, offer insight and analysis and prepare/submit quarterly HMRC VAT returns.
- Oversee monthly payment runs and perform reconciliations to ensure accounts are kept up to date.
- Preparation of forecasts & budgets and reporting monthly on variances.
- Oversee Accounts Payable, Credit Control and Payroll, and ensure employees are following correct procedures in line with company policies.
- Cashflow Management, Cash Optimisation.
- Support the Commercial team, mitigating risk on inventory purchases, reviewing stock positions and analyzing sales/trading data to identify trends and opportunities.
- Support the Directors on a variety of strategic plans and projects.
- Support the Directors in fulfilling significant future CAPEX plans, including return on investment calcs, timing of purchases, financing options etc.
- Assist the Project Manager with medium term objective to migrate to new cloud-based ERP system.
- This is a hands-on role and the Financial Controller will support Departmental Heads with financial and sales analysis including gross margin and overhead analysis.
- Monthly management accounting tasks will include stock reconciliation and reporting, managing prepayments and accruals, cash flow forecasting, and Debtor analysis.
- Assist the Finance Director with preparation of consolidated interim and year-end financial statements.
The Person
- Ambitious, as an opportunity exists to become Finance Director in 2 years.
- 4+ years relevant Finance experience and be suitably qualified (CIMA, ACCA, ACA).
- The ability to analyse existing systems, processes and controls and to advise on and implement improvements.
- Able to manage and motivate a small team whilst effectively managing a full workload within a fast-paced FMCG environment.
