Astute's Power team is partnering witha leading Energy from Waste company to recruit a Reliability Engineer for its site in Allerton, North Yorkshire.

The Reliability Engineer role comes with a starting salary range of 60,000 - 70,000 + car allowance of 493 per month and other benefits.

Responsibilities and duties of the Reliability Engineer role



Reporting to the Account Director, you will:


  • Investigate recurring failures and prevent breakdowns using reliability tools such as RCM, FMEA, and RCA.

  • Collaborate across teams to enhance preventative maintenance and condition monitoring.

  • Support engineering compliance and deliver asset lifecycle improvements.

  • Contribute technical insight to capital projects and investment cases.

  • Work closely with operational, maintenance, and engineering teams across the Thalia group to ensure assets operate efficiently and reliably.






Professional qualifications



We are looking for someone with the following:


  • Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Process Engineering (or equivalent).

  • Chartered or working towards Chartered Engineer status (IMechE, IET, or similar).

  • Proven experience in reliability or maintenance engineering within asset-heavy sectors such as waste, energy, manufacturing, or utilities.

  • Hands-on use of CMMS systems and engineering analytics to support data-driven decision-making.
