Astute's Power team is partnering with a leading Energy from Waste company to recruit a Principal Process Manager for its site in North Yorkshire.

The Principal Process Manager role comes with a starting salary of up to 70,000 + car allowance + bonus.

Responsibilities and duties of the Principal Process Manager role

As the Principal Process Manager you will:

  • Act as the site expert in process technology and performance.
  • Optimise plant operations to achieve cost-effectiveness, stability, and sustainability.
  • Lead root cause analysis to investigate and resolve process-related issues.
  • Oversee the development and ownership of Process Safety Management and Management of Change.
  • Provide technical authority on process performance across the site.
  • Translate operational and performance data into actionable improvement plans and business insights.
  • Influence the design and execution of capital projects to enhance process efficiency.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and support long-term operational sustainability.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements through process and performance reporting.
  • Collaborate with operations, maintenance, compliance, and procurement teams to align objectives and solutions.


Professional qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:

  • Chartered Engineer status with proven experience in an operational setting.
  • Strong background in process control, risk management, and unit operations.
  • Demonstrated expertise in leading process safety management and change management.
  • Advanced analytical and planning skills for performance improvement and business insight.
  • Ability to apply knowledge from other sectors to enhance energy from waste operations.

  • Pragmatic and solution-focused mindset, able to address complex challenges effectively.
  • Clear and confident communicator, capable of translating technical issues for diverse stakeholders.
