We are seeking a Senior Sous Chef to join a renowned fresh food business in Knutsford, known for its high volume and excellent reputation. This is an exciting opportunity for a chef with significant experience in fresh food environments, looking for a dynamic role with the potential to become a permanent position.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Lead and manage kitchen operations during shifts, ensuring high-quality food preparation and presentation.
  • Supervise and train kitchen staff, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with the Head Chef to develop new recipes and menus that meet the high standards of the business.
  • Ensure compliance with food hygiene and safety standards.
  • Manage inventory and order supplies while keeping cost controls in mind.
  • Work shifts based on a flexible schedule of 4 days on, 3 days off or 5 days from 7, totalling approximately 45 hours per week.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef in a high-volume fresh food environment.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage a busy kitchen.
  • Excellent culinary skills with a passion for creating high-quality fresh food.
  • Knowledge of the latest food trends and cooking techniques.
  • Ability to work flexibly and efficiently under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
