Job description:
To design, develop and improve software, utilising various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues.
Skillset Required -

Experience in financial services, particularly in credit card, loan, or banking environments.

Strong knowledge of the OpenShift Platform
-
Mainframe expertise with COBOL, IMS, CICS, DB2, VSAM, JCL, TWS, File-Aid, and REXX.

Proficiency in open systems and tools, including Java, Jenkins, web services, APIs, and service virtualization.

Experience with mid-tier technologies like MQ, WebSphere, UNIX, and third-party API hosting platforms.

Hands-on experience supporting CI/CD pipelines for DevOps teams.

Some other highly valued skills may include:

Familiarity with mainframes, digital channels, and Barclays-specific systems.

Understanding of advanced cloud technologies such as aPaaS and AWS.

Knowledge of MQ flow, database connectivity, network, and security concepts.
Accountabilities

Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.

Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
