Qualified AccountantAre you an experienced and qualified accountant looking to step into a more senior, hands-on role within a supportive and forward-thinking accountancy practice?We’re working with a growing SME-focused firm in Lancaster that’s on the lookout for a Qualified Accountant to take ownership of a varied client portfolio and help lead the day-to-day work of the wider team.This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys building strong client relationships, providing expert tax advice, and supporting junior colleagues, all while keeping a commercial mindset and a high standard of technical work.What you’ll be doing:

  • Meeting clients both virtually and face-to-face
  • Preparing and reviewing annual accounts, tax returns, and complex queries
  • Providing advice on income tax, corporation tax, capital gains, inheritance tax, and VAT
  • Dealing with HMRC audits and investigations
  • Reviewing and signing off work completed by junior team members
  • Managing performance and supporting staff development
  • Monitoring KPIs and contributing to team strategy
  • Attending management meetings and playing a key role in the firm’s continued success

What we’re looking for:

  • ACA / ACCA qualified (or equivalent)
  • Proven practice experience managing a client portfolio
  • Confident with cloud-based accounting software (QuickBooks, Xero)
  • Strong attention to detail and up-to-date technical knowledge
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Previous experience of managing a team is essential
  • A client-focused attitude and a proactive approach to problem-solving
