Clerk of Works / Authorising Agent
We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Clerk of Works / Authorising Agent to join our team and ensure the delivery of high-quality construction and engineering projects.
This is a hands-on role for someone who takes pride in quality assurance, compliance, and safety, and who thrives on working across multidisciplinary teams on complex projects.
In this role, you will inspect, monitor, and report on construction works, ensuring they meet design specifications, relevant standards, and client requirements. You will act as the authorising agent for critical elements, providing approvals and recommendations to maintain the integrity and safety of the project. You will also liaise closely with contractors, project managers, and design teams to identify and resolve issues proactively.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct regular site inspections and audits to monitor workmanship and compliance.
Review and authorise critical work packages in line with project specifications and regulatory requirements.
Produce clear, concise reports and recommendations for project stakeholders.Collaborate with contractors, designers, and project managers to resolve technical issues.
Ensure adherence to health, safety, and quality standards throughout the project lifecycle.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Clerk of Works, Authorising Agent, or similar quality assurance role in construction or engineering project.
Strong knowledge of building regulations, engineering standards, and compliance procedures.
Excellent observational, reporting, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and make informed decisions on-site.
Relevant technical or engineering qualifications desirable.
