Our client is currently looking for a Software Developer where you will be working for a newly established research & development team of new and existing software products and solutions for the business.

As a Software Developer, you will have experience in either mobile app development, front end and web development as well as back-end support providing API interfaces, decision making logic and database integration. You will have the opportunity to enhance your professional development, learning new software technologies and advancing their knowledge in general. 

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Working with the existing Software and R&D teams based in New Zealand so will require some degree of flexibility with working hours.
  • Collaborate to understand software requirements and user needs
  • Participate in the design of architecture, creation of technical specifications as per requirements set out by the business needs. Interacting within periodic progress meetings. Updating progress within Jira ticket system
  • Investigation / Research into the technologies that could be used to meet requirements
  • Writing well-designed, testable and efficient code using programming language such as Microsoft C# .Net
  • Testing software to identify and fix bugs or defects before release. Unit testing and integration testing where possible
  • Collaborate with wider business to deploy software across platforms and systems
  • Fix issues and update the software as per latest requirements
  • Provide technical documentation and training for new software solutions

The following skills and experience will be beneficial for this role:

  • Experienced in C# and .NET
  • Knowledge and experience in web development or app development would be beneficial 
  • Database management and data structure knowledge, SQL
  • Excellent understanding / knowledge of computers operating systems such as Windows and computer networking / network communication protocols / client-server topology
  • Debugging and troubleshooting
  • Cloud computing and deployment knowledge such as Azure/AWS would be a nice to have but not essential
