Part-Time SEN Tutor (Lancashire)

Prospero Teaching is seeking experienced SEN Tutors across Lancashire to deliver high-quality 1:1 tuition in both Maths and English from KS1 to KS4.

Our tutors work with vulnerable pupils who are unable to access mainstream education, often due to Special Educational Needs (SEN) or Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges. This role is ideal for teachers or tutors looking for flexible, part-time work where you can make a real impact.

Role Details:

Location: Across Lancashire (including Preston, Blackburn, Burnley, Chorley, and surrounding areas)

Hours: Approx. 10 - 20 per week (flexible between 9am - 3pm, term-time only)

Pay: 27 - 30 per hour, depending on experience

Contract: Ongoing, part-time, flexible

Subjects: Both Maths and English (KS1 - KS4, depending on your experience and preference)

Start date: ASAP

Requirements:

Minimum 2 years experience working with pupils with SEN/SEMH in the UK

Confident delivering both Maths and English in line with the UK curriculum

QTS desirable (not essential with strong SEN/tuition background)

Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

Ability to travel locally within Lancashire

Patient, empathetic, and adaptable teaching style

Further Information:
As a tutor, you'll be supporting pupils 1:1 in community settings or in their homes (with safeguarding in place). Each session is tailored to the childs needs, combining core subject teaching with strategies that build confidence and engagement.
