SEN Tutor - 1:1 Support Outside of School Location: LancasterPart-time / Flexible hoursStart Date: Ongoing Competitive hourly rate - depending on experienceAre you a patient, adaptable and passionate educator with experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs?We are currently seeking a dedicated SEN Tutor to provide personalised 1:1 and/or small group tuition outside of a mainstream school setting.About the Role:

  • Delivering tailored learning sessions to children with a range of SEN (including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and MLD)
  • Working in alternative settings such as the child's home, local library, or community centre
  • Supporting pupils who may be out of school due to medical needs, anxiety, school refusal or awaiting a suitable placement
  • Planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons in core subjects (English, Maths, etc.)
  • Monitoring progress and adapting teaching strategies to meet individual EHCP goals

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or significant experience in SEN education/tutoring
  • Experience working 1:1 or in small groups with children with additional needs
  • Strong behaviour management skills and a calm, nurturing approach
  • Ability to work independently and liaise with families, external agencies or local authorities
  • Flexibility to travel locally and work in various settings
  • A valid enhanced DBS (or willing to obtain one)
