ABOUT THE ROLE

Prospero Teaching is recruiting an experienced GCSE Maths & English Tutor to deliver 1:1 tuition to students in Skelmersdale from January 2026.

This role focuses on supporting learners working towards GCSE qualifications, including those who may require additional support due to SEN, disengagement, or gaps in learning. You will help students build subject knowledge, confidence, and exam readiness.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Deliver structured 1:1 GCSE Maths and/or English lessons

Adapt content and pace to suit individual learners

Support students with exam techniques, revision strategies, and confidence

Track progress and provide regular feedback to parents/carers or professionals

Create a supportive and motivating learning environment

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

Minimum 1 year of experience teaching or tutoring Maths and/or English

Right to work in the UK

Enhanced DBS on the Child Barred List registered with the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

Ability to manage flexible working hours

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS

QTS, PGCE, or equivalent secondary teaching qualification

Experience supporting GCSE students with SEN
