English Teacher Needed for SEMH School Lancing

We are working with a fantastic provision in Lancing who are looking for the right individual to join their team. This school is looking for a creative English teacher committed to improving the exam results, progress, and engagement of pupils. If you’re ready for a new challenge, we’d love to hear from you.

This role is within one of our Pupil Referral Units, meaning there will be a range of behavioural needs within the provision. The ideal candidate will be passionate about supporting children with Social and Emotional Needs.

Applications for the position are welcome from candidates of ranging experience, although previous experience working with students with SEMH is preferable. Experience working with children with challenging behaviour is important and a strong sense of behaviour management is key.

This is a permanent role to start ideally as soon as possible but this can be discussed for the right candidate. This provision is also offering a 4 day week (Tues-Friday), with SEN allowance!

About the role:
  • Working with students who have challenging behaviour, attachment and trauma.

  • This is a setting where having a calm, nurturing and empathetic nature is key

  • Some experience within SEND / SEMH preferable not necessity

  • Passionate about supporting students and their social and emotional journey

  • Would accept ECT’s

What do I need?
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • Flexibility, enthusiasm and motivation to deliver great lessons

  • Understanding of SEMH

  • Understanding of Secondary Curriculum

  • Behaviour management skills

  • An ability to adhere to and implement schools’ various policies
