EDM Machinist
Contract Type: 6 Month Contract – Possible Extensions and Permanent Opportunities
Location: Leamington Spa
Salary: £21.50 per hour PAYE (to be uplifted to be paid via UMBRELLA PAYE payroll model)
Hours: Nights 21:15-07:00 -  Monday - Thursday

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled EDM Machinist to support the manufacture of high-quality transmission components for motorsport and aerospace applications. This role involves working in a small, dedicated team, applying a right-first-time approach to precision engineering.

As an EDM Machinist you will perform Wire EDM and Spark Erosion operations using Swiss-built EDM Charmilles equipment, including the Charmilles Form 200 Sparker, ensuring components meet the highest standards of accuracy, safety, and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out Wire EDM/Spark Erosion operations on precision components.
  • Interpret technical drawings and planning route cards to produce parts to specification.
  • Manufacture aerospace and motorsport components in line with approved data.
  • Program EDM machines offline using RoboCam or similar (training can be provided).
  • Ensure all work is delivered on time, to quality, and to required tolerances.
  • Contribute to problem solvingcontinuous improvement, and best practice across the workshop.
  • Support other manufacturing areas when required.
  • Work additional hours when necessary to meet critical deadlines.

Key Competencies & Experience

  • Proven experience with Wire EDM and Spark Erosion processes.
  • Skilled in operating numerically controlled EDM machines.
  • Competency in offline programming (RoboCam or similar software).
  • Strong ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Proactiveinnovative, and team-oriented with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Flexibility to adapt and support broader manufacturing activities.
