Expleo is recruiting a Project Engineer - Seat Belt Systems to support the design, development, testing, and delivery of innovative safety components for a leading automotive client in Warwickshire. This is a 12-month contract role, ideal for a dynamic engineer passionate about vehicle safety and system integration.
Key Responsibilities:-
- Lead the development and integration of seat belt systems across vehicle programmes.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams and report to Chapter Leaders and Programme Technical Leads.
- Manage component and sub-system test plans, ensuring timely design verification and issue resolution.
- Maintain engineering documentation including WERS and support Agile delivery through ABR/PI aspirations.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across engineering, manufacturing, quality, logistics, and suppliers.
- Apply Failure Mode Avoidance techniques to meet cost, weight, quality, and performance targets.
Required Skills & Experience:-
- Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Proven track record in automotive engineering project management.
- Experience in Body Engineering, Safety Components, or Restraint Systems.
- Knowledge of seat belt or airbag dynamic performance and related standards.
- Familiarity with product creation, change control, and Agile methodologies (Jira, Confluence).
- Full UK driving licence.
Desirable Attributes:-
- Experience with DFMEA and DRBFM.
- Knowledge of vehicle-level safety requirements.
- Completion of at least one full development cycle on safety components.
- Resilient, enthusiastic, and results-oriented with strong interpersonal skills.
- Passionate about automotive innovation and customer-focused solutions.
