Quality Inspector – Laser Crack Detection (Night Shift)

Contract Type: 6 Month Contract – Possible Extensions and Permanent Opportunities
Location: Leamington Spa, Warwickshire
Salary: £21.50 per hour PAYE (to be uplifted to be paid via UMBRELLA PAYE payroll model)
Hours: 21:15 – 07:00, Monday – Thursday

About the Role

We are seeking to employ a fully skilled Quality Inspector – Laser Crack Detection (Night Shift) to increase our capability and capacity in this area, focusing on small batch work.

This role involves working in a small team to deliver high-quality transmission components, mainly for the motorsport and aerospace industries, with a right-first-time philosophy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Interpret and inspect components from technical drawings and planning route cards to the highest quality and within routed timeframes.
  • Perform inspections using manual measuring equipment and table work to verify parts against drawing or planning requirements.
  • Operate and contribute to laser crack detection processes.
  • Support small-batch, high-precision inspection of prismatic transmission components.
  • Contribute to problem solving, continuous improvement, and supporting wider team objectives.
  • Work additional hours where required to meet KPIs and delivery deadlines.

Key Competencies & Experience

  • Strong understanding of technical drawings and geometric tolerances.
  • Experience with manual measuring equipment and precision inspection techniques.
  • Programming experience on CMM and knowledge of Mitutoyo software is advantageous.
  • Proactive, innovative, and team-oriented, with a strong focus on problem solving and continuous improvement.
  • Flexible in supporting other areas of manufacturing when required.
