Working as part of a central finance function, the Assistant Management Accountant will play a key role in ensuring the delivery of accurate, timely, and insightful financial data.
Supporting the Senior Finance Manager, this role combines hands-on financial control with analytical work that supports strategic decision-making and value-for-money across the organisation.
This is a brilliant opportunity for an experienced finance professional who thrives in a collaborative environment and is ready to take ownership of key finance processes across a dynamic, multi-entity setting.
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing monthly balance sheet reconciliations and investigating variances to ensure integrity of accounts
- Producing monthly cashflow forecasts to inform investment decisions and maintain healthy liquidity
- Posting accurate month-end payroll journals and overseeing salary benchmarking across locations
- Reviewing and booking income and expenditure to maintain up-to-date financial records
- Leading on accruals, prepayments and deferred income postings for robust month-end close
- Ensuring funding is correctly recorded and maximised from relevant external sources
- Supporting statutory and management reporting through clear and reliable data preparation
- Preparing insightful KPI packs and financial schedules for board-level review
- Assisting with year-end accounts, audit preparation and ad hoc analysis projects
This Assistant Management Accountant will benefit from joining a highly driven and commercial team. You will be required to be on site five days a week at the head office near Purley and will have access to flexible working hours.
We’re looking for someone who is:
- Part or fully qualified (CIMA, ACCA, CIPFA, ICAEW or equivalent)
- Technically proficient with a solid grasp of accountancy principles and double entry bookkeeping
- Highly analytical, detail-oriented and confident working with large and complex datasets
- A natural problem solver, comfortable juggling multiple priorities in a busy environment
- An effective communicator who builds strong relationships and enjoys being part of a team
- Proficient in Excel and comfortable using financial systems to produce reports and analysis
