Group Management Accountant (Fixed-Term Maternity Cover, up to 15 months) - Surrey (Hybrid working) | £50,000-£60,000

Are you a hands-on, adaptable Accountant looking for your next opportunity in a fast-paced franchise industry environment? We're hiring on behalf of a dynamic business based in Surrey for a reliable and detail-driven Accountant to join their finance team on a fixed-term maternity cover contract (up to 15 months). This is a fantastic opportunity to gain wide exposure across a growing group and contribute meaningfully from day one.

In this varied role, you'll play a crucial part in both core finance operations and broader team support, from daily cashflow updates to management accounts and audit preparation. You'll need to be comfortable shifting between senior and junior tasks-and thrive on keeping everything running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Daily sales reporting and cashflow forecasting

  • Supporting Accounts Assistants and reviewing supplier invoices

  • Month-end duties including accruals, prepayments, and management accounts

  • Reconciliation of ledgers and balance sheet accounts

  • Quarterly VAT returns and forecasting assistance

  • Year-end audit prep and contributing to financial projects

  • Cross-functional support and resolving finance-related queries

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Part-qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or qualified by experience (QBE)

  • Advanced Excel (Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP, SUMIF, INDEX/MATCH)

  • High attention to detail and accuracy

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Comfortable working to tight deadlines and juggling priorities

Desired Skills:

  • Experience in the Engineering or franchise industry

  • Exposure to multi-entity or group-level reporting

  • Confident working with operational teams across departments
