Technical Support Officer
Location: High Street, Esher KT10 9SD
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Duration: 6+ Months
Working Hours: Mon – Fri, 09:00 – 17:00, 37 Hours per week

Job Responsibilities

  • Prepare reports, decision notices, and compile meeting agendas.

  • Handle public speaking requests and PowerPoint presentations.

  • Distribute correspondence to the correct teams.

  • Scan and index applications for the planning website.

  • Process pre-application enquiries and complaints.

  • Provide administrative support for projects and record management.

  • Organize public events and meetings.

  • Record and process payments and refunds.

  • Register planning compliance investigations.

  • Place purchase orders.

  • Assist with Freedom of Information requests and complaints.

  • Support validation and registration of planning applications.

  • Adapt to changes in Council and Government processes.

  • Maintain professional public service standards.

Must Have

  • Evidence of relevant education and training.

  • Ability to deliver administrative support.

  • Proficiency in IT software for data recording.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills.

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

  • Energy, drive, and commitment to personal development.

  • Flexibility and adaptability to varied workloads.

  • Engagement with team members to improve efficiency.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in a frontline public service role.

  • Knowledge of Planning Service support needs.

  • Understanding of Government guidelines relevant to Planning.

  • Ability to understand plans and technical drawings.

  • Experience in excellent customer care.
