GIS and Grounds Maintenance Project Officer

We are currently recruiting for a GIS and Grounds Maintenance Project Officer to join the council's Leisure and Environmental Services team. This role will support the delivery of the Grounds Maintenance Project, contributing to the effective management of the council's parks, open spaces, and green assets.
The successful candidate will work within the GIS team and in close collaboration with the Leisure team to capture, manage, and maintain leisure site and asset data in digital and spatial formats. The position also involves producing maps, ensuring data quality, and promoting the effective use of GIS across the project.

Key Responsibilities:
路 Capture and maintain grounds maintenance and asset data within the council's spatial database.
路 Develop and manage data structures and schemas to meet project requirements.
路 Produce and publish digital maps to support the Grounds Maintenance Project.
路 Collaborate with the GIS and Leisure teams to ensure data accuracy and integration.
路 Provide technical advice, support, and training on GIS use and data management.
路 Ensure all spatial data complies with relevant standards and legislation, including GEMINI, INSPIRE, GDPR, and PSMA.
路 Promote data-led decision-making and process improvements across the project.
路 Contribute to the development and documentation of procedures for data capture, updates, and analysis.

Requirements:
路 Proven experience in the use of GIS systems (ArcGIS, QGIS, or equivalent).
路 Strong analytical and data management skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
路 Understanding of spatial data standards, governance, and best practice in GIS.
路 Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
路 Strong communication and organisational skills.
路 A background or interest in environmental management, grounds maintenance, or public sector projects is desirable.
