Design Manager – Industrial Projects

Location: Surrey (or within a commutable distance)

About the Role

I am looking for an experienced Design Manager to join a well established team working on a very exiciting industrial scheme. This is a key role, working closely with project, commercial, and site teams to manage and coordinate the design process from pre-construction through to project completion.

The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring designs are delivered on time, within budget, and in line with technical, statutory, and client requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate the design process across all project stages

• Lead design team meetings and ensure clear communication between consultants and internal teams

• Review and manage design information, ensuring buildability and compliance

• Identify and manage design risks and opportunities

• Ensure designs meet programme, cost, and quality requirements

• Support procurement and construction teams with technical input

About You

• Proven experience as a Design Manager on industrial construction projects

• Strong understanding of design coordination, technical detailing, and construction methodology

• Experience working on projects of similar value (£10m+) preferred

• Excellent communication and organisational skills

• Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and deadlines

Location Requirement

Candidates must be based in or around Surrey or be able to commute regularly to site and project meetings.
