NEW Job Opportunity - Power Systems Studies Engineer - Initial 12 Month Outside IR35 Contract

Our Client has a requirement for a Power Systems Studies Engineer, who will be required to work on a Contract basis in Leatherhead, Surrey.

Duration: 12 months
Rate: Negotiable dependant on experience (Outside IR35)
Location: Leatherhead (Hybrid working)

We are seeking an experienced Power Systems Studies Engineer to join our team and provide technical expertise across a range of onshore and offshore energy projects. This role offers the opportunity to work on projects involving local power generation, renewable energy systems (including BESS), and grid connections up to 220kV.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform advanced power system studies including:
    • Equipment sizing
    • Load flow and short circuit analysis
    • Dynamic motor starting studies
    • Harmonic analysis
    • Arc flash assessments
    • Transient stability studies
    • Protection coordination
  • Deliver high-quality power system modelling and analysis using ETAP.
  • Review, guide, and oversee studies completed by third-party vendors, including EMT simulations.
  • Provide technical input to ensure compliance with project requirements, standards, and best practices.
  • Support project teams across the full lifecycle, from concept design through to execution.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in power system analysis within onshore and/or offshore energy projects.
  • Strong background in renewable energy integration and grid connection studies.
  • Proficiency with ETAP (essential).
  • Familiarity with BESS and grid-scale renewable projects highly desirable.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and vendor management skills.
