My client, a leading independent insurance broker based in Surrey, are looking to hire an experienced commercial Account Handler for their team.

The Account Handler’s primary role is to support their team with the administration of clients' insurance portfolios in a timely and efficient manner through the delivery of exemplary customer service. In addition Account Handlers are expected to identify new business opportunities and work with the Account Managers and Directors to maximise all revenue generating activities.

Duties will include:

  • Be responsible for the day-to-day administration and growth of nominated accounts, including visits to clients when necessary
  • Support the activities of Directors and Account Managers when dealing with clients
  • Ensure instructions are processed, recorded and confirmed in a timely and efficient manner
  • Identify cross-selling opportunities and potential gaps in client cover work with colleagues
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and the company’s procedures
  • To ensure that client insurance premiums are collected in accordance with the company’s credit terms

We are looking for someone with drive and ambition to continue to grow their career within the insurance broking industry. Previous experience within commercial / corporate insurance experience would be preferred, however a willingness to learn and upskill are very welcome. A high degree of IT literacy is key - use of MS Excel, MS Word, and previous use of Acturis is highly desirable.

Ideally we are seeking someone Cert CII qualified or keen to complete their qualification. Study support can also be provided. It is essential you can demonstrate excellent customer service skills - the ability to build relationship with both external customers and internal team members.
