HLTA Opportunity - SLD/Complex Needs School (Immediate Start)

Are you a passionate and experienced HLTA looking for a rewarding role in a supportive specialist setting? We are working with a fantastic SLD (Severe Learning Difficulties)/complex needs school that is seeking a committed Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) for an immediate start following May half-term.



The Role:

  • Full-time, Monday to Friday 9:30am - 15:30

  • Working closely with class teachers and therapists to support pupils with SLD, PMLD, and complex needs

  • Leading small group sessions and covering classes where required

  • Supporting personal care and using alternative communication methods (e.g., PECS, Makaton)

  • Contributing to EHCP targets and promoting independence and engagement



What We're Looking For:

  • HLTA qualification or strong HLTA-level experience

  • Experience working in SEND settings, ideally with SLD, PMLD, or ASD

  • Calm, adaptable, and nurturing approach

  • Confident working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team

  • Willingness to commit until the end of July, with potential for a permanent role from September
