HLTA Opportunity - SLD/Complex Needs School (Immediate Start)
Location: Leatherhead
Start Date: After May Half Term
Contract: Full-time (Mon-Fri) until end of July
Potential to continue into September
Are you a passionate and experienced HLTA looking for a rewarding role in a supportive specialist setting? We are working with a fantastic SLD (Severe Learning Difficulties)/complex needs school that is seeking a committed Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) for an immediate start following May half-term.
The Role:
Full-time, Monday to Friday 9:30am - 15:30
Working closely with class teachers and therapists to support pupils with SLD, PMLD, and complex needs
Leading small group sessions and covering classes where required
Supporting personal care and using alternative communication methods (e.g., PECS, Makaton)
Contributing to EHCP targets and promoting independence and engagement
What We're Looking For:
HLTA qualification or strong HLTA-level experience
Experience working in SEND settings, ideally with SLD, PMLD, or ASD
Calm, adaptable, and nurturing approach
Confident working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team
Willingness to commit until the end of July, with potential for a permanent role from September
