Randstad is delighted to be partnering with a well-established and reputable construction company to recruit a skilled Site Manager for two sequential projects. The first project, commencing ASAP in Leatherhead, involves a cut and carve, testing facility with lab relocation. Following the successful completion of this initial phase, you will transition to a 4.5m - 5m Cat A office fit-out project in Woking, commencing towards the end of June.

About Our Client:

Our client is a well-regarded construction company with a strong track record of delivering high-quality commercial projects across various sectors. They value strong site management and are looking for a capable individual to lead these key projects in Surrey.

The Role:

As the Site Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of both projects, ensuring they are delivered safely, on time, and to the required quality standards. You will be the key point of contact on-site, coordinating all trades and ensuring smooth project progression for both the complex lab move and the substantial Cat A fit-out.

Project 1: Leatherhead (Immediate Start - Approx. Duration TBC)

  • Type: Cut and carve, testing facility, moving existing labs.
  • Key Responsibilities: Overseeing the structural alterations, coordination of specialist lab relocation, management of associated services and finishes.

Project 2: Woking (Commencing End of June - Approx. Duration TBC)

  • Type: Cat A Office Fit Out - 4.5m - 5m.
  • Key Responsibilities: Managing the full M&E package, new toilet installations, chiller upgrade, and decorative finishes.

General Site Manager Responsibilities (Across Both Projects):

  • Take full responsibility for the on-site management of each project.
  • Ensure the projects are delivered according to the agreed programmes.
  • Supervise and coordinate all subcontractors and direct labour on site.
  • Ensure strict adherence to health and safety regulations and company procedures.
  • Monitor the quality of workmanship and ensure it meets project specifications.
  • Liaise effectively with the Project Manager, client representatives, and other stakeholders.
  • Manage site logistics, including deliveries and material storage.
  • Conduct regular site meetings and report on progress.
  • Identify and resolve any on-site issues or delays promptly.
  • Ensure the site is kept clean and organised at all times.
  • Manage the snagging process and ensure timely completion of all outstanding items.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Site Manager on commercial construction projects.
  • Experience in fit-out projects is essential, with exposure to both structural alterations and full M&E packages being highly advantageous.
  • Understanding of laboratory environments and relocation processes for the Leatherhead project would be beneficial.
  • Strong knowledge of building regulations and quality standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.
  • A proactive and hands-on approach to site management.
  • Essential Qualifications:
    • Valid CSCS card.
    • Valid SMSTS certificate.
    • Valid First Aid certificate.
  • Desirable Qualifications (Nice to Have):
    • Fire Marshal certification.
    • PASMA certification.
  • Must be located within a commutable distance of both Leatherhead and Woking.
  • Must be available for an immediate start in Leatherhead and then transition to Woking towards the end of June.
