Automotive Technical Trainer

Location: Surrey (2 days onsite and global travel)Contract Length: 6 monthsDaily Rate: £200 - £250 (inside IR35)

Are you passionate about the automotive industry and eager to share your knowledge with others? Our client is seeking an experienced Automotive Technical Trainer to join their dynamic team. This role offers the exciting opportunity to support global training initiatives for cutting-edge vehicles and technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the delivery of both technical and non-technical training programmes globally, both at the training academy and on-site as needed.
  • Collaborate with the technical training team to define and develop course content that reflects the brand's standards.
  • Create comprehensive course documentation in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Deliver pilot training courses to internal staff and selected retailer partners.
  • Participate in technical meetings to enhance training strategies.
  • Contribute to the development of training for new products and technologies.
  • Make timely amendments to course documentation as agreed with the team leader.
  • Work alongside Regional Aftersales Managers to promote the training portfolio.
  • Assist in maintaining the training facility and support external service providers.
  • Collaborate with third-party training providers as required.
  • Ensure delivery quality levels are met according to specified standards.
  • Support the global training strategy and deliver training to the retailer network as needed.
  • Carry out any additional reasonable tasks as requested by the organisation.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Relevant training delivery experience aligned with CIPD (CTP) or equivalent.
  • Mechanical qualifications to City & Guilds Level 3 or equivalent.
  • Strong automotive background with a passion for cars and an understanding of market trends.
  • Excellent coaching and communication skills.
  • Proven experience in learning and development needs analysis.
  • Ability to build rapport and maintain relationships effectively.
  • Track record in developing and delivering innovative training materials.
  • Capacity to translate complex engineering concepts into clear, customer-facing messages.
  • Strong analytical skills to create effective learning development solutions.
  • Resilience and adaptability in a dynamic environment.

Software Proficiency:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools, particularly PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Premiere Pro, Photoshop) is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with Articulate Storyline or Rise 360 for eLearning course design is beneficial.
