Project Manager – Major Infrastructure (Permanent or Contract)

Salary: Up to £75,000

Contract Rate: £475 per day (Outside IR35)

Start: ASAP

Sector: Major Water & Wastewater Infrastructure

Type: Permanent (preferred) or Contract

The Opportunity

We’re recruiting an experienced Project Manager to join a major capital delivery programme delivering multiple large-scale water infrastructure schemes. These projects are currently in design and Early Contractor Involvement stages.

You’ll step in early, taking ownership of projects through design development, tender handover and procurement, before moving into full delivery. Initially managing 2–3 projects, you’ll ultimately take responsibility for a major site through construction, testing and commissioning.

This is a chance to lead high-value, technically complex schemes (£10m–£18m), shaping delivery strategy from the outset and guiding them through every stage of the lifecycle.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Leading projects from design through delivery, commissioning and handover.
  • Managing procurement activities, tender handover sessions and supply chain coordination.
  • Setting up sites, integrating civils, mechanical and electrical delivery teams.
  • Overseeing programme, commercial performance, reporting and risk management.
  • Working within established processes and governance frameworks.
  • Engaging with stakeholders, delivery teams and engineering partners.
  • Ensuring environmental, sustainability and compliance requirements are fully met.

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong Project Management background in major infrastructure delivery.
  • Water/wastewater sector experience (highly desirable).
  • Tier 1 contractor background and understanding of regulated frameworks.
  • Ability to work within structured governance and change-controlled environments.
  • Strong civils or MEICA understanding.
  • Confident communicator with excellent leadership and organisational skills.

Why Apply?

These schemes form part of a long-term capital delivery programme with robust pipelines, significant engineering complexity, and the opportunity to shape projects from design through to completion.
