Locum Opportunity: Band 6/7 Speech & Language Therapist – Leatherhead, Surrey

We’re seeking a compassionate and motivated Speech & Language Therapist (Band 6 or Band 7) to join a specialist neurorehabilitation service supporting adults recovering from stroke, traumatic brain injury, and other neurological conditions.

Location: Leatherhead, Surrey
Rate: £40 – £45ph (Umbrella) 
Hours: 37.5/week (part-time considered)

What You’ll Do

  • Conduct specialist speech, language, and swallowing assessments for adults with cognitive and communication challenges.
  • Deliver neurorehabilitation therapy individually and in group settings.
  • Contribute to stroke recovery and rehabilitation pathways.
  • Support outpatient services and help develop innovative SLT programs.
  • Work closely with senior SLTs on treatment plans and complete dysphagia competencies as required.
  • Provide guidance to clients, families, and staff on communication strategies and dysphagia management.

About You

  • Qualified Speech & Language Therapist (degree/diploma) with HCPC registration.
  • Member of the RCSLT.
  • Experience or strong interest in neurorehabilitation and working with adults with acquired brain injuries.
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and person-centred approach.
  • Motivated, empathetic, and aligned with QEF’s core values.
