A well-respected housing organisation is looking for a fully qualified Financial Accountant to join their finance team in a key role based out of their central Leeds office. This is a brilliant opportunity for someone looking to make their first move from practice or someone with strong financial accounting experience in the housing or property sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take ownership of month-end, quarter-end and year-end processes across the group

  • Prepare statutory accounts and support the audit process, working closely with both internal and external auditors

  • Manage the financial reporting for 2–4 subsidiaries, ensuring accuracy and compliance

  • Mentor and support junior team members, helping to upskill the wider finance team—no direct line management required

  • Play a key role in supporting core projects across finance, bringing a proactive approach to process improvement and driving more efficient ways of working

This is a hybrid role, with a mix of remote working and regular presence in the organisation’s modern central Leeds-based offices. You’ll be part of a supportive, ambitious team that encourages growth and collaboration.

Person Specification:

  • Fully qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) – essential

  • Strong technical grounding in financial accounting, audit, and month-end processes

  • Ideally from a practice background or with experience in the housing or property sector

  • Confident communicator with the interpersonal skills to mentor others and build strong working relationships

  • Positive, proactive attitude with a genuine desire to learn, improve and drive change
