Robertson Bell are delighted to be working with a large, complex organisation as they recruit a Management Accountant on a permanent basis. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with leaders across two key departments, taking ownership of budgeting, reporting and transactional oversight, while supporting strategic decisions across a £30 million portfolio.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Preparing monthly management reports, forecasts and annual budgets for assigned schools and departments.
- Supporting department leaders by translating financial data into meaningful insights and guidance.
- Presenting updates at leadership meetings and advising on the financial implications of plans and activities.
- Overseeing day-to-day transaction processing including invoices, journals, and expenses.
- Ensuring accurate recording and reporting across relevant cost centres.
- Line managing a small team of Finance Assistants, providing coaching and support.
- Collaborating with senior stakeholders across the faculty, developing your business partnering skills in a fast-paced environment.
This role is based in Leeds and operates on a hybrid working pattern, with three days per week in the office. The successful candidate will:
- Be fully qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent), though qualified by experience candidates with significant management accounting experience will also be considered.
- Have experience producing management accounts, posting journals, and analysing financial data.
- Bring experience working in a large, complex organisation – higher education experience is a bonus but not essential.
- Demonstrate strong Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs; Power BI is desirable.
- Be adaptable, confident, and delivery-focused, with the ability to engage with senior non-finance stakeholders.
