Reed Accountancy are delighted to be exclusively partnering with a Leeds-based business in their search for an Accounts Assistant. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity to work closely with the Financial Controller, providing vital support across daily accounting operations. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about developing their skills, with a clear ambition to train towards becoming a future Management Accountant.

Duties:

  • Process invoices, match with purchase orders and follow up on queries
  • Complete bank reconciliations and daily posting of cash transactions
  • Undertake weekly payment runs
  • Complete month end journals and reconciliations
  • Support with internal and external audits
  • Ensure timely and accurate expenses are recorded
  • Work closely with suppliers to ensure supplier statements reconcile
  • Resolve any discrepancies
  • Maintain precise ledgers
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to resolve financial discrepancies

You will need to demonstrate:

  • AAT qualified or working towards ACCA/CIMA/ACMA (desirable)
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Experience in a similar accounting or finance role
  • High attention to detail and numerical accuracy
  • Proactive problem solving skills
