Graduate Accounts Assistant - Leeds City Centre - Hybrid - Up to £27,000

We're searching for a detail-oriented Graduate Accounts Assistant to join a dynamic team, supporting a range of essential financial operations across accounts payable, accounts receivable, treasury management, company secretarial tasks, and management accounting. With a competitive salary of up to £27,000, this role offers the chance to gain exposure across multiple areas of finance with room to grow and develop professionally.

Key ResponsibilitiesAccounts Payable
  • Timely processing and payment of purchase invoices.
  • Maintenance of the purchase ledger, ensuring accuracy at all times.
  • Building and nurturing relationships with suppliers.
Accounts Receivable
  • Issuing invoices and ensuring timely payments from customers.
  • Maintenance of the sales ledger and tight control over credit-related processes.
Cash, Debt & Treasury Management
  • Updating and maintaining cash books and loan schedules.
  • Managing treasury deposits and scheduling interest/capital repayments.
  • Supporting the efficient handling of non-supplier payments, as needed.
Company Secretarial Duties
  • Minute-taking during project board meetings.
  • Submission and processing of Companies House documents.
Management Accounting
  • Accurate incorporation of ledgers, cash books, and loan data into ETBs.
  • Uploading accounting information into SUN accounting systems.
  • Assisting with journals, accruals, and prepayments.
Other Responsibilities
  • Preparing and submitting quarterly VAT and CIS returns.
  • Supporting auditors with necessary documentation for year-end financial statements.
  • Handling ad hoc projects to support business needs.
What We're Looking For
  • A graduate from a STEM degree with strong numerical and analytical skills and a keen interest in finance.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and able to maintain accuracy in high-volume tasks.
  • An individual with strong interpersonal skills to manage client, supplier, and team relationships effectively.
  • Prior exposure to accounting processes is advantageous but not essential.
  • someone who has exposure to teams outside of work, sports people etc
