Are you currently studying AAT Level 3 or 4 and looking to kickstart your finance career in a role that offers real progression and hands-on experience?We are currently working with a fantastic business in Leeds as they look to recruit an Assistant Accountant and gain full exposure to the end-to-end finance function, with a clear pathway to a future Management Accountant position.

Key Responsibilities:

Take full ownership of the sales ledger process
Ensure timely and accurate invoicing
Conduct weekly variance analysis between actual and forecasted revenue
Oversee and maintain the semi-automated purchase ledger system
Ensure accurate invoice processing and reconciliation
Lead credit control activities and maintain aged debt KPIs
Deliver weekly aged debtor reports to internal teams
Perform daily bank reconciliations across multiple accounts
Maintain detailed and accurate transaction records
Assist in preparing Monthly MI packs with a 3-day close cycle
Post journals and help ensure report accuracy
Support analytical reviews and variance analysis
Complete timely balance sheet reconciliations
Support VAT returns and respond to ONS questionnaires
Assist with cash flow forecasting and reconciliation
Deliver ad-hoc financial analysis and insights to the Group FC

What We’re Looking For:

Currently studying AAT Level 3 or 4
Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
Intermediate Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, v-lookups)
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
A proactive mindset and eagerness to develop professionally
