Quality Engineer

Location: Leeds, United Kingdom
Salary: Up to 46,500 per annum DOE

Carbon60 is recruiting on behalf of a leading engineering client known for delivering innovative solutions across pumps and rotating equipment. Based in Leeds, their equipment division specialises in precision machining, repairs, and bespoke engineering services that enhance performance and extend equipment life.

We're looking for a Quality Engineer to join the team and help maintain exceptional standards across production and supply chain operations. If you're passionate about quality and have a strong engineering background, this is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and coordinate Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) and Quality Plans aligned with internal, customer, and international standards.
  • Collaborate with Production, Procurement, and Supply Chain teams to define inspection and testing requirements for machining, welding, assembly, and coating processes.
  • Review and verify vendor certifications for compliance.
  • Support Non-Conformance Report (NCR) processes, root cause analysis, and implement preventative actions.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across Safety, Quality, and Environmental standards.
  • Engage with suppliers through development programs to reduce non-conformances.


Required Experience and Knowledge:

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a Quality role or similar engineering function.
  • Strong understanding of quality processes and engineering standards.
  • Experience with ITPs and quality plan development.
  • Knowledge of rotating equipment is a plus.
  • Proficiency in root cause analysis tools (e.g., 5 Why, 8D).
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
