Penguin Recruitment is excited to be working with a leading consultancy who are looking to appoint an Associate Director in Acoustics to join their Environment and Infrastructure team in Leeds.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced acoustics professional to take on a senior leadership role, overseeing high-profile projects across multiple sectors - from residential schemes to major infrastructure developments. With a clear pathway to Managing Director, this role offers both immediate impact and long-term career progression.



The Role

As the Associate Director in Acoustics, you will be responsible for:

  • Leading complex acoustic projects, ensuring technical excellence and quality delivery.

  • Developing business opportunities, building strong client relationships and driving growth across Leeds and beyond.

  • Mentoring and managing a team, supporting development and maintaining high performance.

  • Overseeing noise, vibration, and environmental impact assessments.

  • Acting as the key client contact, providing tailored, cost-effective solutions.

  • Conducting on-site assessments and reviewing technical documentation.



The Candidate

Our client is seeking an Associate Director with:

  • A degree in Acoustics, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.

  • Membership of the Institute of Acoustics (IOA) or equivalent.

  • Proven expertise in noise and vibration consultancy across sectors.

  • Excellent team leadership and client management skills.

  • Proficiency with acoustic modelling tools and analysis software.

  • A valid UK driving licence with flexibility for regional travel.
