A well-established professional services firm located in the heart of Leeds is currently seeking a detail-oriented and organised Legal Cashier to join its accounts team on a full-time basis. This is an excellent opportunity to join a friendly and collaborative finance department that supports a multi-office legal operation.

The ideal candidate will bring 1-2 years of experience in a similar role, with a proactive and methodical approach and a strong focus on compliance and accuracy. This role is suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is looking for long-term stability and growth within a professional setting.

General Duties of Legal Cashier:
  • Accurately process financial transactions related to client, office, and nominal accounts.

  • Ensure daily updates to all ledgers and reconcile discrepancies as needed.

  • Handle data entry of billing information with accuracy and efficiency.

  • Process incoming/outgoing electronic payments and maintain supporting records.

  • Conduct daily banking procedures and manage card payment queries.

  • Issue cheques as per internal requests and maintain accurate records of all disbursements.

  • Oversee petty cash transactions and handle expense processing.

  • Provide general assistance to other members of the Accounts and Cashiers team.

  • Ensure all processes comply with SRA Accounts Rules and relevant financial regulations.

  • Support continuous improvement in accounts procedures and office compliance.

General Requirements of Legal Cashier:
  • 1-2 years' experience in a cashiering or legal finance role (required).

  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work to high standards of accuracy.

  • Good IT skills, including experience with Microsoft Office (especially Excel).

  • Knowledge of Solicitors Accounts Rules (desirable).

  • Strong organisational and time-management abilities.

  • Professional and friendly manner when dealing with internal and external enquiries.

  • Capable of prioritising workloads and meeting strict deadlines.

  • Proactive, flexible, and team-oriented approach.
