Class 2 Driver

Berry Recruitment are currently looking for a Class 2 driver for a long-term opportunity in Leeds. This role would be ongoing, with an opportunity to go permanent for the right candidate.

Hours: Monday - Friday, start times between 05:00 - 07:00

Rate of Pay: 15.97, 8 hours paid per day with overtime of 17.84 for anything worked over 8 hours.

Contract Length: Ongoing, long term role with the potential to go permanent.

Job Title: Class 2 Delivery Driver

About the Role
Our client specialises in home and hospital delivery services, operating across 18T, 12T, and 7.5T vehicles. We are looking for a reliable and professional Class 2 Driver to join their team and ensure safe, timely delivery of essential medical goods.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver pallets of medical supplies to hospitals and private homes.
• Follow a pre-planned route (maximum 10 hours), completing 5-12 drops per day.
• Ensure safe and efficient delivery across the Yorkshire & Humber region and the Northeast.
• Operate pallet trucks and handle heavy lifting when required.
• Complete all delivery paperwork accurately.
• Unload goods to the customer's room of choice in home settings.
• Work independently to meet delivery schedules and customer expectations.
• Perform daily vehicle safety checks and maintain compliance with regulations.

Requirements

• Valid Class 2 (Category C) driving licence, CPC qualification, and digital tachograph card.
• Minimum 12 months' experience in a Class 2 driving role.
• No more than 6 points on your licence.
• Physically fit, able to lift and handle heavy goods safely.
• Safety boots and hi-vis.
• Positive attitude, reliability, and strong customer service skills.
• Happy to undergo enhanced DBS check once settled in the role.
• Able to pass a drugs and alcohol test.
