IT Director

Bradford / Leeds + Hybrid working

Up to £95,000

Your new role

You will have ultimate accountability for all IT systems, operations, development and telecommunications within the business.

Responsibilities

Develop the IT strategy to support and contribute to the organisation's corporate goals and business objectives.

Effectively communicate the strategy to all colleagues in the business including formal presentations in Board and partner meetings.

Implement IT policy for the org covering all technological matters, hardware and software procurement, IT services sourcing and colleague development.

At senior management level, actively promote the opportunities that IT presents to the org, including the feasibility of change and its likely impact upon the business.

Direct investigation of specific IT technologies, products, methods and techniques to assess their potential benefit to the organisation and role in the IT strategy.

Manage the IT budget carefully to ensure maximum return from investment.

Establish and maintain an effective IT development team and support and develop the business Agile development approach including providing support for the team with stakeholder management and, though line management, monitoring the development approach to ensure it is adding value to the business.

Establish and maintain an effective IT infrastructure and related services, ensuring delivery against the business' strategic goals and objectives, providing maximum availability and performance of IT systems and services throughout the org.

Ensure the effective management of the business' IT Estate by authorising and managing the implementation, monitoring, maintenance, development and support of all hardware and software.

Implement effective Programme, Project and Service Management processes based on good practice principles such as Prince 2 and ITIL.

Develop, manage, test and continually update the IT Service Continuity Plan.

Experience needed

The successful candidate will be an experienced, highly motivated IT professional with an evidenced commercial and management background and possess a proven ability to develop and implement an IT strategy and build a high performance, best practice IT team providing IT services to a large, diverse organisation.

They will be a leader of business and leader of people, with a strong yet mentoring style of management and results focused in order to develop colleagues and build a high performing and efficient IT team.

The candidate will also have a proven track record of excellence in communications at all levels within the IT team, with internal customers and with clients of the business.

Experience gained within an appropriate professional services organisation.

Have conceived, developed, built, obtained buy-in for and delivered a full IT strategy.

A robust personality, confident in their abilities and able to deliver very quickly and with quality even under pressure.

Leadership qualities - particularly taking accountabilities for all decisions, being clear and decisive and able to think on their feet.

Projects credibility, professionalism and confidence.

A high degree of professional integrity, with a strong sense of upholding professional values and standards.
