My client, a large, accomplished Multidisciplinary Consultancy is currently searching for an Associate Flood Risk and Drainage Consultant to join their expert team of engineers, based in the lively city of Leeds, the unofficial capital of Yorkshire.

Essential Criteria:

- A Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Geography, Environmental Management, or similar discipline (or extensive experience within the industry)

- Extensive experience within flood risk and drainage, including experience with design guidance to align with relevant laws and regulations

- Demonstrable experience of managing a range of projects

- Experience liaising with a range of clients across the public and private sectors, with an acute commercial awareness

- Good working knowledge of software packages, including MicroDrainage/InfoDrainage, AutoCAD, QGIS (and other GIS software), etc.

It would also benefit applicants for the role of Associate Flood Risk and Drainage Consultant to possess the following:

- Professional Body Chartered Membership (or proactively working to attaining Chartered Status)

- Outstanding communication skills when liaising with colleagues and other stakeholders

- Good time management skills, and able to quickly adapt to changing situations

- Managing projects in their entirety, from inception through to successful completion

- Preparation of fee proposals and tenders, utilising technical and commercial experience

- Overseeing and completing Flood Risk Assessments, Flood Scoping Reports, and Drainage Strategies

- Leading the wider team to produce conceptual drainage design (incorporating SuDS techniques), and production of the relevant drainage plans

- Reviewing reports, calculations, and drawings

- Completing Flood Risk Appraisals for clients, providing practical risk mitigation, recommendations, and commercial advice

- Line managing an accomplished team of expert colleagues, with a commitment to mentoring their professional development
