About the Role:
As an Infrastructure Engineer, you'll play a critical role in the design, implementation, and maintenance of core infrastructure systems - including servers, networks, storage, and cloud services. This is a varied, fast-paced role where you'll get stuck into both project work and BAU support, ensuring systems remain secure, scalable, and future-ready.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and support on-premises and cloud-based infrastructure (Azure/AWS).
- Administer and improve core services including Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS/DHCP, and Group Policy.
- Take the lead in infrastructure projects such as system upgrades, migrations, and cloud adoption.
- Monitor system performance and ensure high availability and security of systems and services.
- Collaborate with internal teams and third-party vendors to ensure infrastructure aligns with business needs.
- Act as an escalation point for complex technical issues.
What You'll Bring:
- Proven experience in an infrastructure or systems engineering role.
- Strong working knowledge of:
- Microsoft Server technologies (Windows Server 2016/2019/2022)
- Virtualisation platforms (Hyper-V, VMware)
- Cloud platforms (Azure preferred)
- Networking fundamentals (firewalls, switches, VPNs)
- Scripting experience (PowerShell, Bash, or similar) is highly desirable.
- A proactive approach with excellent troubleshooting and communication skills.
- Certifications like Microsoft (MCSA/MCSE), Azure Administrator, or VMware VCP are a plus.
