Our client is a multi-academy learning Trust that covers 16 sites across Leeds and Harrogate and serves more than 10,000 children and young people from nursery up to sixth form.

They are currently looking to recruit a Building Surveyor to join their Estates Team. The role is to support and contribute to the strategic development initiatives, sustainability planning, and estate management. The successful Building Surveyor will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day management of estate projects, ensuring successful delivery from inception to completion. The Building Surveyor is responsible for overseeing project planning, risk management, and stakeholder coordination under the guidance of the Director of Estates.

Role/Responsibilities:

- Stakeholder management - establish strong, trusting relationships across operational, educational and other stakeholder teams to ensure successful project delivery.
- Assist the Director of Estates with the development and implementation of the sustainability agenda.
- Ensure the building plans and and schedules of accommodation are developed and updated as required.
- Support in the day-to-day management and delivery of Estate projects.
- Lead on development and management of project programmes, risk registers and project trackers.
- Establish project teams as required to support service departments, project owners, consultants, and school leaders to deliver specific projects to a defined quality, on time, and within budget.
- Lead the development of project documentation, including feasibility studies, outline briefs, project initiation documents, financial appraisals, project execution plans, preparation of tender documentation, development of technical drawings and specifications, including contract administration.
- Take ownership of project meetings, including taking meeting minutes and managing change control on projects within allocated budgets.


Qualifications/Experience:

- Degree or equivalent qualification in a construction-related field, ideally in Building Surveying.
- MRICS or MCIOB would be desirable but not essential as long as you have gained the relevant level of previous experience to be able to carry out the role.
- Relevant experience within Condition surveys and managing small projects of up to £500K in value
- A basic knowledge of AutoCAD and be able to change/update basic drawings.
