A great opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Estimator to join a well-established Electrical and Mechanical solutions provider. This is an excellent opportunity for a time-served tradesperson (ideally an ex-pipefitter welder) looking to transition into or further develop their career in estimating.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate and competitive bids for mechanical projects.
- Price works related to:
- Plant rooms / energy centres / boiler houses
- Pump installations
- Review technical drawings and specifications to produce detailed cost estimates.
- Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain quotations.
- Ensure bids are submitted on time and meet client requirements.
- Travel to sites across the UK as required (typically returning the same day).
Beneficial Skills / Qualifications:
- Previous experience in mechanical estimating or a strong background in mechanical trades.
- Time-served in the mechanical trade, ideally as a pipefitter welder.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems and installations.
- CSCS card holder.
- Full UK driving licence – national travel
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tenders simultaneously.
